My background was rural and I believe it marked my painting indelibly.
The works reflect a fading lifestyle and the people fading with it. I’ve sought the grit and abrasion of long days and wearying work that have molded the rural character. Farm life quickly wears the polish off everything, leaving only the real substance. Weather and time alter the country universe, soon covering it with moss or rust, changing tools and structures, causing them to decompose and returning them to dust. I see my art as a chronicle of the process. James F. McComb Read Bio of James F. McComb Currently Showing: A "Love Boat" Journey A watercolor romance along America's by-ways Watercolors by James F.
